China Mobile, SK Telecom Forge R&D MOU

China Mobile and SK Telecom signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) to jointly develop next-generation networks, device platforms, M2M (Machine to Machine) services, and applications, according to an April 3, 2011 report by the Cellular-News. As per the MOU, a joint R&D center will be established to develop M2M standards. It is reported that the two companies aim to develop low cost and high efficiency next generation radio access network architecture, such as SCAN (Smart Cloud Access Network) and set up test beds for evaluation.
